A60 Class Marine Fireproof Glass is a toughened laminated safety glass designed for marine and offshore fire protection. It provides 60 minutes of fire integrity and insulation (A60) in accordance with SOLAS and IMO Resolution A.754(18).
When exposed to fire, the intumescent interlayer expands rapidly, forming a rigid heat‑insulating barrier that blocks flames, smoke, and radiant heat.
Widely used in cargo tanks, accommodation areas, wheelhouses, fire partitions, and A60-rated doors on oil tankers, chemical tankers, container ships, passenger vessels, and offshore platforms.
Certified by CCS, DNV, ABS; excellent weather resistance, high light transmission, and superior sound insulation.
Fireproofing Principle
The product consists of two or more layers of tempered glass with an inorganic fire-resistant adhesive layer (dry or wet process nano-silica) sandwiched in between, and is sealed with flame-retardant material around the edges. When exposed to fire, the glass on the side facing the flames shatters, while the fireproof adhesive expands by approximately ten times, forming a rigid insulating barrier that blocks the transmission of flames, high temperatures, and smoke.
Core features
✅ Fire resistance rating: A60 (60-minute integrity + insulation). Average temperature rise on the back side ≤ 140℃, effectively preventing heat radiation.
✅ High light transmittance: Light transmittance ≥ 70%, minimal light distortion, clear vision.
✅ **Extremely strong weather resistance: -40℃ to +60℃** stable, resistant to UV rays, does not yellow, does not delaminate.
✅ Excellent sound insulation: Approximately 42dB, balancing fire resistance and noise reduction.
✅ Safety enhancement: Tempered + laminated structure, resistant to impact, prevents splashing.
Application Scenarios (for ships)
Tankers / Oil tankers: Windows facing the cargo oil area in the living quarters, rectangular windows (always closed type)
Engine rooms / Control rooms: Fireproof partitions, observation windows, A60 grade fireproof door glass
Upper structures: Corridors, passages, fire separation zones for important compartments
Special ships: Chemical tankers, LNG ships, passenger-cargo ships, yachts, offshore platforms
Certification Standards
International: SOLAS, IMO A.754(18)
Domestic: GB 15763.1, CCS Type Approval
Optional: DNV, ABS, BV, etc. Classification Society Certification
Optional Types
Wet method A60: Organic fireproof adhesive, moderate cost; weather resistance is average, gel easily at low temperatures
Nano-silicon dry method A60 (recommended): Inorganic silica, strong weather resistance, anti-aging, long lifespan, suitable for harsh marine environments
